Ryan Van Duzer
This is his story.....
When did you first start doing adventure videos? What was it?
My first adventure video ever was when I rode my bike from Honduras to Boulder. I made a short 4 minute overview that actually was shown on the Travel Channel. What was your first biking trip?
My first trip was when I finished my Peace Corps service in Honduras and rode home to Boulder, 4,000 miles of pure awesomeness!
Of all your Adventures, what has been you favorite?
It's hard to name a favorite, they are a unique and special in their own way. I'd say that the month spent surviving in the jungles of Venezuela for the Discovery show 'Out of the Wild' was the most impact-full on my life.

How long did your bike trip from Honduras to Boulder, CO take?
It took 3 months, I think 87 days to be exact. I so have some epic stories, the most frightening being when I discovered Bot Fly larvae living in my right bicep. It was a pretty crazy experience! No close call actually, the Mexican people were very gracious and generous with me and I was invited into many a home for meals and a dry place to sleep.
Who inspired you to "Get Out There"?
My grandpa sent me on an Outward Bound course when I was 16. We spent 23 days in the Utah wilderness and it was the first time in my life rafting, mountaineering and sleeping in snow caves. I'd say that experience was when I fell in love with Mother Nature and I've been addicted to the outdoors every since. I remember coming home from that trip and sleeping the rest of the summer in my backyard, I love sleeping under the stars!
What is your next adventure?
I'm always doing little adventures, just filmed a video with Mens Journal in Utah doing some climbing in the canyons. My next big adventure is in the planning stages, I want to ride the length of the Continental Divide Trail, it's the worlds longest off road biking route.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is always convincing my
mom that I'll be safe. After I have mom convinced, I know I'm golden!
